Your Home in 2014: Top Trends

It’s here, the New Year. 2014. The year of great technological advancements. This is the year we’re apparently going to get wearable technology like Google Glass and smart watches from companies like Samsung. Well, it’s also another year which means that there’s new design trends to follow.

We’re going to look at two of the most popular things that homeowners up and down the country will be doing this coming year.

Whether it be in their conservatory or in the bathroom, there’s undoubtedly going to be a copious amount of different rooms and houses that will be being re-decorated this year.

Space

In 2014, space is going to be at the top of a lot of people’s lists. No, not venturing into outer space but space in their home. Minimalist, you know the whole “less is more” thing.

Well, these days because of all of the closely knit things that there are in the world, like our cities and what not, people like to come home an airy, spacious environment. That’s why, this year space is going to be at the forefront of a lot of people’s minds when they’re re-designing/re-decorating.

Texture

There’s been quite a focus on what we touch and feel recently in the home. Well, as well as our interiors looking good, they need to feel good also!

Well, this year will see the rise in the amount of natural elements that will start to appear within the home. There will be a lot of natural woods ad soft, comfortable fabrics as well as textured bathroom and kitchen tiles which will help to bring a different dimension to your home’s interior.

Finally, a small mention for handmade home goods and decorations. In 2014, the rise of these kind of goods will be prominent.
