Are Conservatories Just For Homes?

Short answer, no. There are many different types of places that a conservatory can really add a little extra something to the building. Most recently I was dining in a restaurant called The Calf’s Head in Worston, Lancashire. I was asked whether I would like to dine in the main dining room or in the conservatory, of course I opted for the conservatory, it’s not every day that you’re given the option! Although the food (which was great by the way) tasted much the same as I would imagine in any other room, I found that the experience was heightened as the light and airy room overlooking a beautiful garden really enhanced the meal for me. This got me thinking, where else could a conservatory make a difference?

An office can be a depressing place between the hours of 9 – 5, and many of them suffer from a lack of natural light, this can of course have adverse effects on the employees that inhabit them. Many places of work benefit from the use of a conservatory, not only do they look great when clients are visiting but it’s also a place that your employees can take a break, have their lunch, relax and enjoy some much needed vitamin C. Not only do you now have a happier workforce, I’m willing to bet you also have a more productive one too!

With the introduction of the smoking ban, many bars and restaurants profited from having readily available, nice, outdoor area’s for their patrons to consume their cigarettes. With the inclusion of some bi-fold doors to make sure that the majority of the area is open and ventilated a conservatory may be the ideal addition to your bars beer garden/ smoking area.

I’m sure there would also be some other great ideas for places that would benefit from having a conservatory, if you know of any then we would love to hear your ideas!
