Petrol Prices Forcing Drivers Off The Road

As well as the cost of household fuel, the cost of petrol prices have gone up massively over the past few years. Fuel duty is set to go up further in the next few months which means that many parts of the country will be charged up to £1.50 per litre of unleaded.

Such is the impact that rising fuel costs have had that a study conducted by Post Office Car Insurance has shown that 46% of drivers are cutting down on car usage. Some people are putting off long trips purely because of the cost of fuel, whilst others are modifying the way they drive to try and cut their fuel consumption.

Spokesman for Post Office Car Insurance, Gerry Barrett said:

“With approximately 405 trips made by every driver each year and with the cost of fuel jumping 52% in the last five years, it is not surprising that motorists are becoming increasingly worried about rising fuel prices and the general cost of running their car.”

When you factor in the cost of petrol prices with the rising price of household energy you can soon see why so many people find themselves living in debt. Conserving the amount of fuel your vehicle consumes is only half the job. Look to make improvements around your home to drive down bills!

Installing double glazing in Penrith, double glazing in Workington or double glazing in Carlisle is one of several ways in which you can reduce household fuel bills as contemporary windows control heat loss and insulate properties more efficiently. New windows also have a life expectancy of around 20 years so you will certainly get your money’s worth out of them.

Don’t let fuel costs in and out the home get the better of you. There are so many ways of solving the issue!
