A survey carried out by the British Home Enhancement Trade Association (BHETA), has found that 56% of UK residents don’t love their home. Our homes are meant to be our safe place to go to at the end of the day, making this statistic all the more disheartening.
Thinking about the most used places in your home, your challenge is to think of simple changes you can make that will transform the space and make it new. Full details of how to take part can be found on the National Home Improvement Month website.
So, are you feeling up to the challenge?
If you’re feeling ready to take on some home improvements, here are three easy projects you can take on.
Refresh your kitchen cabinets
We spend so much time in our kitchen, it’s where we start and often end the day. It’s no surprise that many homeowners want to make improvements to their kitchen.
We would understand not wanting to take on a full renovation right now. While the results of a new kitchen are often spectacular, they can be costly and definitely cause a lot of disruption.
For a quick and easy upgrade to your kitchen why not repaint your kitchen cupboards? If they are solid wood you can sand them down and repaint them for a fresh new look. If this isn’t possible we suggest refacing your cabinets as an alternative. To finish the look why not change the handles as well?
Add removable wallpaper to a wall in the master bedroom
A feature wall is a great way to add personality to a room. It usually means only one wall to decorate and it can have a big impact on the overall atmosphere of the space.
With removable wallpaper it’s even easier to experiment with different trends and styles. This wallpaper is easily removed when you’re ready to try a new style, and thanks to the no mess application even a beginner can apply this product.
Available in a range of patterns there’s guaranteed to be something to suit your taste to help you transform your master bedroom.
Tidy up and pretty up your front entrance
Your entryway is the first impression your home makes to guests and we know you want to make a good introduction.
Getting a new door fitted, or repainting your current front door, will definitely help make the right impression, but don’t stop there.
Adding some plants to your garden, or hanging baskets if you don’t have the space, will help to make your entryway feel alive and inviting. Why not add a wreath to your door all year round as a final finishing to touch to welcome you home?
