Essential Tips For Saving Money In Summer
Here at Planet South Lakes, we get some glorious days in the summer time and it’s all well and good having nice weather but those days could be made better if you saved some money, right?
Well, we’ve got some great tips to help you save some cash this summertime. Here goes.
The Fridge
This is one that you may not think will make any difference to your summer bills but if you keep your fridge full, you will be reducing the amount of work your fridge has to do to stay cool and will stop it warming up as fast when you open the door.
Your Water
Water is a big one in the summer months, especially when it’s not actually raining outside and is hot. Your hot water usage can make up to 10% of your energy bill. If you lower the temperature on your hot water tank to 60oC, it could reduce your costs whilst still being more than hot enough to kill off harmful bacteria.
Draughts
Not draught beer but draughts coming into your home from outside. If you draught-proof your home, not only will you stop cold draughts from coming into your home, you’ll also stop the heat from escaping your house.
You could cut up to £55 per year off of your heating costs by ensuring that you’ve fully draught-proofed your house.
