Love Your Home – The DIY Jobs You Can Do While In Lockdown

Love Your Home

In normal circumstances, you will come up with every excuse in the book not to do some DIY at home. Well, what excuse do you have now?

Why not spend some of this lockdown giving your home a bit of loving – you’ll be glad you did it, honest!

Whatever’s been sitting on the to-do list, get it sorted, and call on your other house members to help so that you don’t literally have to do-it-yourself. Take on all, or at least a couple, of the below DIY duties:

Revitalise a room with a fresh lick of paint

Being sat in one place for so long makes you notice things more, for instance, if paint has washed away in a certain area. If you want to get it painted, click for more info and find professional help.

Treat your wall, floor, ceiling or wherever else has lost its colour to a fresh coat. If it’s just some marks that need to be covered over, carefully apply a stain blocker to the relevant surface.

The other option is to fully repaint a room and freshen up its look. As it’s spring, why not opt for a variation of green or a cheery yellow, or combine the two by painting a door and skirting boards in either finish.

Tip One

Mend what you can and see what you can recycle

When have you ever known a time when something doesn’t need fixing in your house? It just doesn’t happen. You can mend most things without the aid of the Pros.

This includes removing and then applying caulk between your bathtub, shower or sink and the wall in your bathroom, fixing a leaky faucet or unclogging a toilet. For a visual aid, find a YouTube instructional video.

Do you have a creative mind? Think of what in your house you could repurpose and reuse. It could involve anything from turning glass jars into soap dispensers or using an old drawer as a planter.

Tip Two

Get green-fingered in the garden

After lockdown, you will never take your garden for granted again. It’s about the only chance you have of properly enjoying the weather.

If you’ve barely used it since last summer, it will need some attention first. Rip out any dead plants and weeds, trim any overgrown trees or plants and treat the lawn to a cut. Give your trees some extra care with the help of experts and try here to know more on what you can do.

You’ll love the view you have when sitting out on your patio furniture and the kids will love being able to play on an immaculate outdoor surface.

Extend your outdoor stays by having lanterns and candles setup that you can light at night time.
