Try Reduce Your Reliance On Expensive Energy With Energy Efficient Windows & Doors

Cut your energy bills

The cost of living has skyrocketed in recent weeks, with the exceptionally high energy costs pushing homeowners over the edge.

Before April 1st, the maximum energy bill was capped at £1277.

Now the price cap has increased to £1971, a 54% rise, with further rises expected in October. It is likely that the price cap could be increased to £2600, dramatically increasing our household bills once again.

Whereas you might have thought about shopping around for cheaper energy suppliers, you may be shocked to hear that the lowest cost for a fixed tariff is currently £2800, which might not help!

Follow our guidance to lower your energy costs.

The investment will be worth it when you see how much it might you can save in bills.

Energy Efficient Windows

Did you know that heat is lost through old windows, pouring out through gaps around the windows and through the glazing?

If you want a trick to determine if your windows are causing heat to escape, hold a candle close to them and watch out for a flickering flame. You may also notice visible moisture or mould and cracks, which suggest they are poorly insulated.

Our windows are A+ rated in energy efficiency, which is above recommended energy efficiency performance according to The British Fenestration Ratings Council (BFRC). They will hopefully assist in saving you money on energy bills by preventing heat loss.

Energy Efficient Doors

Old front and back doors aren’t innocent either, with them causing you to lose heat too. If you’re curious about their performance, carry out the same checks as you would for windows.

Building Regulations have set a U-value requirement at 1.8 W/m² for all replacement doors, and this includes their frame and glazing. A U-value can tell you how much heat can pass through the door.

A lower U-Value means the door is more energy efficient. Planet offers many options of doors which more than satisfy the regulations, in order to hopefully reduce your energy bills.
