Should I buy a Conservatory?

In this day and age, with the state of the economy, home owners are looking at home improvement more than ever.

Why though?

Even though the recession is currently in full force, the property market has also been devalued considerably. This means that instead of looking at trying to sell, home owners are looking to improve what they have – either for themselves to use, or to improve their home so they can then manage to sell at a decent price.

At Planet South Lakes, despite the recession, sales are doing well. We still get regular leads and take every care to meet the wants and needs of every customer individually.

There was an article in the Telegraph newspaper not long ago, discussing this subject. The article states “Homeowners are spending an average of around £5,300 on improving their homes rather than risk exposing themselves to the struggling property market, according to research.”

Orangery

The research goes on to say that having new bathrooms and kitchens fitted top the list for desired areas of home improvement. The average price for a new kitchen however weighed in at £6,300. Quite a hefty chunk of change for something that won’t increase the value of your house all that much.

It seems that people desire change. It is in our nature to want something new and sleek, and adding a Conservatory to a property seems to be a very popular and well thought out option at the moment.

It is believed that adding more space to a property will add around £20,000 or more to the value of a property. So in the scheme of things this is a much better option than adding a kitchen or bathroom – a conservatory will add a lot more value to your home and offer a lot more in the mean time.

We also understand the qualms you may face with finance, so we offer some great deals , including a MASSIVE 30% OFF!

So if you’re looking to add to the value of your home, rather than selling at this particular time, look around and request a free quote online. All of our conservatories are tailor made for your requirements. Our range of Orangeries are more contemporary and may suit more modern homes even more.

A little bit of interesting facts on Lancaster
Built on a site first fortified in Roman times, the superbly preserved medieval castle is just part of the array of fascinating historic buildings in Lancaster, a city where you will find evidence of Georgian pomp and Victorian civic philanthropy as well as Roman and Medieval remains.

Of course, Lancaster has always had a key role in England’s history, giving its name to the great county of Lancashire as well as to the Royal House of Lancaster, and Lancaster Castle is still owned by her Majesty the Queen.

The castle is still a working building, housing two crown courts and a prison. Guided tours throughout the year offer you a glimpse behind its high walls.

The castle and the ancient Priory Church of St Mary the Virgin form a magnificent backdrop to special events throughout the year, including the Georgian Fair and the hugely popular November fireworks celebrations.

Form this hilltop you can also look across to another famous Lancaster landmark and one of England’s grandest follies, dominating the skyline – the Ashton Memorial, set in the sweeping gardens of Williamson Park.

Dear Sir/Madam,

I’m writing on behalf of me and my wife, as we recently purchased a Conservatory. The installers have been around this week, making sure it’s fitted exactly how we want. We are very pleased with the fitters, as they did a very good job and listened to everything we wanted the conservatory to look like.

We decided that we wanted uPVC Windows, as we’d been recommended them by our next door neighbours, they look really nice and are very secure.

My wife suggested that we get had Composite Doors installed, I don’t really know about them, but they work really well and it’s very nice to be able to open the front of the Conservatory fully.

The fitters were also very good at cleaning their mess. We expected some mess, but they were very good at cleaning it as they went. So can you please thank them for being very professional and overall very efficient.

Thank you once again for our new uPVC Conservatory.

Yours Sincerely,
Mr Timbert

Great looking, quality doors can help to add to the aesthetics of a home. With uPVC Doors, there are numerous designs and styles available. Most doors these days can also be made and designed to meet your own specific requirements. Because of this uPVC Doors have become extremely popular and are now the most common door in the housing market.

Lots of companies manufacture an enormous range of uPVC Windows and doors and using the internet is becoming, or perhaps already is, the best medium to find manufacturers. But before you choose a manufacturer, be sure to check out some testimonials, or request a quote or two to see the price range.

Porches, Cumbria

In england the porch began to be used through churches in medieval times. Back in those days the Porches tended to be built from stone, or sometimes timber, and placed on the southern side of the building – as well as other sides. These porches were mainly built to provide cover for people at the church.

As time went on the churches began to have two stories, with a room above the entrance porch which was used as a storeroom, library, or another similar room such as an armory. Sometimes the church custodian lived in the upper storey and a window would be installed for supervision of the interior. Most churches left from this era still have these porches, both internally and externally.

Coming back to the present, porches are highly customisable, with different roof shapes, colours and Planet South Lakes will even match your brick pattern so that it fits in perfectly with your house.

Here at Planet South Lakes, we are extremely proud of our customer service and the quality of our products. If you would like some more information, please call the number on the banner at the top of the site or just request a quote online.

After coming to Planet South Lakes last year for our bespoke conservatory, we knew that we would get service with you.

We came this time to install our replacement patio door. Obviously for a job like this, you want to go with someone you can trust, and we knew that would be you.

The patio door price was very good value for money and the installation was carried out very efficiently despite annoying weather conditions of wind and rain. The fitters worked incredibly hard and we are delighted with the final result.

The staff were excellent and did a fantastic job dealing with all of our queries. We recommended you to our next door neighbours after you fitted our conservatory in Barrow and they’ve just ordered one of your contemporary orangeries, so we’ll be very keen to see how good that looks when it’s finished.

Will you also thank David for helping us chose what colour and design to chose. He was really helpful at showing us what type of design would suit our needs.

Our thanks once again and we wish you all the success in the future.

Mr and Mrs York
Barrow
